HOW DOES ONE DISCOVER HIMSELF AS A MUSICIAN?
2b.
Please read my other posts in this topic for better understanding.
My story...
Meanwhile, I started my music journey as a singer. I won't say I was very good, but I wasn't that bad either. I had several challenges with my voice range, most times, my voice won't be able to reach the notes allocated to the tenors, sometimes I will only do the part one or two times before my voice shuts down (Inversion was not popular in this part of the world as at then.) After a while, I realised I couldn't fit in with the tenors, so i had to join the altos where I sang low alto, you know how embarrassing or wonderful (depending on the way you see
things) it is when you are the only guy in the midst of ladies, singing on a low octave!
Next I got interested in learning the keyboard, so I moved over to the instrument while still maintaining my singing. Right after that, I explored few more instruments until I discovered myself with the saxophone. Now I don't expect the world to judge me by singing, or other similar vocations. I am a saxophonist, yet you can't even compare me with other saxophonists because I am still different.
Don't judge yourself by your weaknesses, don't even let the world judge you by your weaknesses, rather maximize your strengths.
