My Take On The Pastor And Musicians Issue!
FROM THE PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN'S VIEW!
* When you pay staffs in your Church, you are not paying for their anointing, you are paying for their skills! When you pay builders and labourers in your Church, you are not paying for their anointing, you are paying for their skills! The same goes with when you are paying a musician, who can also be regarded as a staff or a guest specialist, you are paying for the skills, not his anointing! When you pay your Church musicians, you are paying for their skills not their anointing.
A lot of musicians does not receive anything form their Churches, that is their way of giving back to God! You shouldn't force this act on other musicians who wants to be paid! If they want to be paid, pay them! It's cheap when you brainwash them into believing it is a sin! If the Church does not have enough at the moment, it may be wise to calmly explain to them why the Church can't pay them, most of them would understand. There are a lots of ways to pay your musicians, it must not be only money.
When you help them discover their purpose, and destination in life, and push them towards that direction, they won't even talk about receiving money from the Church because what you gave them is higher in value compared to money, and they would not want to leave you for anything!
KNOWN FACTS!
* Over the years, musicians has been put down, ridiculed, downtrodden, mocked and abused by the Church. Now our protest against the video is a stand against ill use and abuse on musicians!
* The fact still remains that musicians are just pouring out their outrage against people who think they can say or do anything they want about music not minding if its right or wrong!
* Take note! Musicians in their right senses wouldn't insult any Pastor for any reason! If you are a musician and you are insulting the Pastor, we stand against it.
The problem is with the subject, not the object! (Chuku Onyemachi)
The messenger is not the real threat, the person or idea behind the messenger is the real enemy...now the threat is this wrong mind set. That is what we are fighting against! (So musicians please don't fight your pastors!)
We stand against what the Pastor said, not against his calling!
We stand against the mental slavery he induced, and not against his calling!
We stand against his way of delivering the mental chains!
This is what we are against!
Note : I won't fail to mention that I have been blessed with good pastors who has always been there for me without reservation! They have always encouraged and supported my vision, mission and vocation! They understand the tides and seasons too! I won't mention theirs names here, but am sure they will read this post. To all our pastors who blesses us by supporting and encouraging what we do I dedicate this post to you all! You will reap the proceeds from the seeds you are sowing in us!
Growing up as a young musician, youthful exuberance made me take some actions I should not have taken. In the process l wronged my pastor then and to my greatest surprise he called me back with love! I know you are reading this post sir, I am forever indebted to you! Call on me anytime and I will be there!
In 2017, one of my favourite pastors called and reminded me about a project I ought to embarked on. He told me he would be supporting me with finance if it's needed! Dear Pastor, I know you are reading this, I will be forever grateful for this and more!
Still in 2017, another of favourite Pastor talked and encouraged me in various ways! He gave me some ideas and concepts which I will be pursuing anytime from now! He always let's me know that he is in support of me! What other father do I need again?
I know you will read this sir! Thank you for everything! I will make you proud!
As a pastor you can either build up or tear down your musicians, the choice is in your hands. I think it's time to start investing in your musicians if you want to reap from them.
Christ Embassy is a good example of a Church who invested a lot into their musicians and today they are reaping the rewards!
I rest my case!
Am done with this for now, let me focus on my business!
