My take on the Pastor Vs Musicians issue!
: The case study of Elisha and the minstrel!
THE ANALYSIS! ( Second book of kings 3 vs 15) Part One!
FROM THE PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN'S VIEW!
Highlights :
* The Bible didn't say the minstrel was anointed, he was just qualified as a good musician, he was skillful! They wouldn't have called him for such an important event if he wasn't!

* The work of the minstrel (musician) was not to prophesy, he was there to skillfully create the musical ambience needed for Elisha to perform - that is to prophesy.

* The work the minstrel performed is similar to the roles of modern Church musicians. They provide the right ambience for each selected stages of Church services!

*During the prophetic sessions in Church services, the musicians, working together with the Pastor creates a conducive environment
(ambience) for God to move through the Pastor!

*Did you notice that during prophetic, healing or anointing sessions in church services that suitable music makes the man of God perform
better? Yes! The music creates a conducive atmosphere for the Pastor to thrive! That is why Men of God never joke with music during their ministration.

* l have been privileged to play the saxophone for Dr. Uma Ukpai several times whenever he comes down to the east that I have been convinced about the major role musicians play
in the success of most ministrations.
He (Dr.Uma Ukpai) needed a skillful
saxophonist and that's where I come in! He will often start a song, then in the middle of the song he will say "Sax man!" , and that is my cue to do a powerful and skillful solo that will uplift his spirit and bless the audience! My work there was to create a powerful and conducive atmosphere along with the rest of the band to put him in the zone!

 Some of you will argue grace here, but the fact still remains that If I wasn't known about my skilfulness in music I wouldn't have been invited! (They don't call afi musicians for things like this)
